Re: Odd visit to tbe pain clinic today

one of my 6 pain doctors did the same thing, he got scared plain and simple,
there really should be laws covering this if you have a documented case
imho....

I had my regular PC visit today, my Doc told me he was discontinuing
ALL pain meds. According to my Doc (I have had ZERO problems with this
Doc), pain meds would sometimes "reverse their effects and CAUSE pain
instead of alleviating it. He went on to say that he also would NOT
provide me with the tools to KILL myself.

Instead, he is getting me into a Physiciatrist because my depression
has gotten "so severe". All of this is based on:

Chronologically, we were awarded disabiliy in June, CIGNA (LTD CARRIER)
decided that they didn't have to pay me, we lost our house, my wife
injured her knee to the point that we are trying to find her help as
well, we had to move into a 5th-wheel camper in my Mom's backyard All
this since June/July!

Am I depressed? Yes, just like other CP'ers....last night I ended up in
the local ER in pain crisis. When I got to the clinc today, I informed
them what had happened. I am not sleeping more than 2 hours at a time.
I mentioned this to the CRNP today while crying due to the severe pain.
Remember I had NOT slept and so far this week, I have not slept more
than a total of 10 hours.

Do I need to be concerned about being fired? I have had ZERO compliance
issues with my contract with the PC. I really like my doc and I trust
his abilities to help me, it's just that this was so unexpected. When I
asked him what to expect, he said that being I had said the
Methadone/Lyrica wasn't helping (what I said was the combo wasn't
helping me during the crisis) I shouldn't have any ill effects.

Folks, my legs are already burning again (no lyrica) and I am terrified
that CIGNA will decide that I am no longer disabled. I am also
terrified that he will be wrong and that the pain coming is going to be
totally unbearable. Any advice?

Thanks

rk
