Again you are trying to say things were said that were not. I never
said anything about which herpes virus it is and there does happen to
be some question as to whether only the chicken pox one causes
shingles.
sorry...again...you are wrong
firstly....any diagnosis of "shingles" refers to the SAME virus that causes
chicken pox....do your research again...
Herpes virus is around in so many different forms that
without testing of specific leasions at the time they can be seen - if
they are the type that can be tested I know that 20 years ago herpes I
and herpes II was a below or above the waist diagnosis without the
cultures.
OK ....herpes I and II are NOT the same herpes virus that causes shingles
they are "herpes simplex"....while shingles is ALWAYS "herpes zoster"...it
always is related to chicken pox
diagnosing zoster vs simplex is relatively easy...tho cultures can help...
zoster ALWAYS follows a "dermatone"....look it up....so in looking at an
outbreak of "unknown eruption." tho they both can present as a weepy raised
blister looking eruption....simplex presents as a conflaguration of
"pimples"..can be at the corners of the mouth...in the genital region they
can be spread about in a varied configuration....while zoster is seen in a
line...looking at a picture book of dermatones it is possible to see the
exact dermatone it is on..ie which nerve system is harboring the virus...
in both cases...once the virus is there...it will stay there(tho the above
and below the waist designations...are now known to be in either
location...ie sexual practices that involve oral genital contact can move
the virus from one location to another)
while zoster is rarely transported from one dermatone to another
This really has little to do with medical knowledge -- you
after all are just an NP and one who is no longer practicing and no
longer doing continuing education
LOL....funny that just a month or so ago I renewed both my RN license and NP
certification....in this state an RN renewal requires 30 hours of CE in the
prior 2 years..and my NP certification requires 75 hours....I stopped
listing my CE endeavors when I reached the 130 hour mark....
so...do not assume that a "retired" "just an NP" is no longer doing CE...I
am...and have the proof...not to mention the 30+ journals that arrive
monthly...have to admit that I "skim" them now...but each and every mag is
reviewed..and relavant and interesting articles are torn out and saved in
files....
do YOU do that?? course not
I'm sure so stop crowing about it.
And the loss of gray matter due to aging will affect you just like it
does anyone else -- hell I know of at least 3 local MDs that have
Alzhimers and there have been plenty of PhDs and such too.
well...am only 62...so have to admit that my brain may be aging a bit...but
keeping active and reading as much as I can...surely does mean that I
obviously have another gray matter left(at least at this point)
:Lustin after or longing for a particualr car can in no way cause
shingles without the virus exposure first. That is what LC said and it
is true so again how does that make someone look like a fool?
Your insistence that it does only shines a light on how big of one you
are. You are trying to do exactly what you are acusing LC of to both
LC and me without a valid reason -- just gotta make sure you get the
back-up for another member of the squeaky squad in there. That in
itself makes a fool out of you without even having to look like one.

I've NEVER been the sort to get rashes.
(okay, except for the crushing romantic blow which brought on a
shingles attack, and haunts me to this day)...the shingles, not

STOP Snickering please! My brother got shingles over a CAR he
virus,after when he was 16. ;)
meaning he had already been exposed or had chickenpox
it was the STRESS or whatever that caused the outbreak
and lambchop blasted back..
You dont get shingles from lusting after a car! Shingles is a
gaverelated to the Chicken Pox herpes virus. If lusting after a car
...it ISppl a virus, nearly every male from the age of 12 and up would be
covered in em!
again he is wrong ..shingles is NOT related to the chicken px virus
the chicken pox virus...has
People get a shingles outbreak (for lack of a better word) for any
number of reasons,
and then lambchop bleats
But before any of thoes reasons can cause one, exposure to the virus
matters...heto happen.
so?? Codeee...btw the brother was 16...not 12...not that it
OBVIOUSLY had already either had or been exposed to chickenpox.....it WAS
likely that whatever stress the car lust caused did cause theoutbreak...or
he was in the group where the triggering occurrence was not know...that a
so...no..lambchop was NOT saying the same thing!!! he was denying
16 year old was very likely to have already had chicken pox..or atleast
been exposed...reported...
what he WAS doing was trying to disavow the truth to what Codeee
both
he must be taking lessons from you
you both may want to rethink arguing with me about medicine....you
continue to make yourself look the fools you arecouldn't
and emotional upset can cause a case to occur (or
should I say re-occur?). So, it's possible that the brother wanted
*that* car particularly badly, and was "devastated" when he
exposurehave it (or do males 12 and up not get devastated?).
Oh, 12 yr old males get seriously devastated daily! But without
getto the virus, they can be devastated to the end of time & still not
Yashingles! Same w/chicken pox...ya cant get em cuz of being upset.
begotta be exposed, and then you can get em. Viruses are not self
generating, they dont appear outta nowhere. If they did, HIV would
whyspread further then it already is.
Then there are those like me, no one knows why I developed them, or
forI ignored them for so long, or why they went away untreated (except
untila grayish "thing" that stayed under my left arm for ages after -
sheI used steroid ointment then it too went away).
Theyre hell. My aunt got them badly not long before she died, and
did. Isaid there were few things that hurt as badly and deeply as they
ya cantdont wanna know what its like. But she HAD to be exposed, even if
exposure.track down the exposure, its there. Shingles cant exist without
I'd
SO..............................
While on morphine, I started breaking out in BRIGHT
red itchy rashes....just a few small bumps, but BIG patches of
skin....they'd come and go
just as mysteriously, only to return the next day or day after.
While I was on Morphine Sulphate, my eyeballs would itch so bad,
almostwant to take them out and just scratch them (and ya can't do that).
Nothing new "environmentally" or medically except morphine.
When the doc switched me back to oxy, they went away.....for two
weeks.
He'd also given me Zyrtec, which seems to clear them. We were
they'recertain it was a reaction to morphine, but that can't BE if
inshowing up again now, can it?
OR
Is this just another manifestation of Fibro I've yet to run across
happenreading?
Heck, after reading the fibro group, I'm not sure what all can
withbecause of it. I know that my RDs diagnosed me as having (along
diseases...)RA, Osteo-arthritis, bursitis, and a couple of other fun
and Ifibro, but from what some of the symptoms are, I don't know anymore
(though I've got 18 or 18 tender/painful spots), I have the "fog"
"P"have the totally screwed sleep pattern. Not sure about substance
find(I think it is) since neither I nor my docs want to do a tap and
out.
Thanks for any and all help,
codeee
