I havent gained any weight on methadone but I notice
that my legs will swell in the evening. Not sure if that
is due to the methadone or the high blood pressure med.
I am on. It doesnt happen all the time. I am addicted
to SlimFast bars in the cookie dough flavor. I eat them morning, noon and
at night. I gained weight and have
lost it when quitting it was Topamox. That med has the
side effect of loosing weight but it worked just the opposite. I have never
gotten a buzz from methadone.
I tried contin and it made me sick to my stomach so
I flushed it down the toilet. We have a septic tank so nothing got into the
water pipes BUT I think the moles
do not have any more chronic pain :-) Glad to hear
you are having your hubby dole out the pills. Have a
friend who has her hubby do the same thing and it has
worked out very good. She got addicted to her pain meds but had kept within
the lines now by doing this.

I too smile when I think of Me questioning if you were a man, that was
pretty funny. I suppose I should have directed my question to anyone in
general since this is a "group", I know I can take a number of things
to avoid drowsiness, I do take Korean ginseng, B6 and B12, Eleuthero
root, Guarana seed extract,Yerba mate leaves,Ginko biloba,Goldenseal
root, Guto Kola,Suma, Ho Shou wu root, And green tea leaves along with
a multivitamin daily.(a good freind manages an organic food store that
has more suppliments than it does food) So through the years I've found
an all herbal regimen that works great for me for energy instead of
just caffiene, Don't get me wrong I'm a sucker for Red Bull energy
drinks, I drink them all the time day or night. If anyone is interested
in herbal suppliments for different problems such as taking valerian
root to relax, I have some knowledge of that topic.
I used to love methadone and nodding out, (yes I know that's addict
behavior, I'm working on that in many ways)but I want to avoid nodding
out as I'm trying to stop doing things that trigger my old addict
behaviors, that was my biggest reason for not wanting methadone, I like
it tooo much! but I don't like the side effects of that drug, and the
fact that it gets so deep into the body even bone mass,which hurts soo
bad when detoxing from it, and takes soo long to detox from it.It also
caused me to get lower extremity edema in my ankles, which I took Lasix
and pottasium chloride to get rid of,and when that subsided I noticed I
had gained close to 40 lbs while I was on it (as of today I've lost 18
pounds from diet, exercise and switching my meds) Ronnie, have you
gained weight from the dones? I saw a topic on that issue in ADH and
some say that Dr's deny that thats a side effect, yet it seems to
happen to a whole lot of people that use it, YES EVERYONE I have been
posting on occation in ADH ! OMG what a bad person I am!!! quick go
find something to drag my name in the mud,pick a sentence that you can
use against me and talk about it for a month. See I can be helpful in
some peoples quest to try to crucify me, All ya gotta do is ask ME!
Sorry Ronnie, I don't mean you, and when I say EVERYONE I meant Juba
and his minyans, they know who its directed to.
But anyway, I just got back from my appointment, I have read the MRI
readout but today he showed me exactly where I am injured on the films,
and I was sturn on my objection of the 'dones', so i got what I felt is
best for me and that's just an extra dose of my 30mg oxycodones, so I
don't wake up in the night deciding if I want to start my daily dose at
3-4 am and go back to sleep or not.So to ZW if you had planned to
answer my post, it's ok, disreguard it as I've solved my problem
already.
Well it sure is nice to post a topic that's mostly about CP for a
change, Oh wait this is a group for support isn't it???It feels good to
be able to post on CP,even with a few off topic sentences. I wish this
ng. would get back on track as much as it was when I first visited
here, that would be great, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

good I hope,Thanks for your advice, I gave my prescriptions to my
husband to be my little pez dispenser. I was taught in rehab that If a
person does something for 30 days straight it becomes a habit, so me
taking my meds a prescribed for 30 days straight will hopefully get me
back on track.It's one of the many tools I learned. Now I'll find out
if their theory is right.
