Excuse me while I laugh until I cry. or puke.

not sure just what you mean

jealous that perhaps someone has achieved enuf in 60+ years of living within their means to "afford"..a pool...etc..

if so..then please go ahead and puke...if it makes you feel better...

you sound like a very angry person...

There was nuthin angry about his post, although I did pick up some disgust in what he wrote. I happen to concur w/that. Yer post sure as hell was inconsiderate at the very least. In a thread where info was given to help those truly in need, you had the audacity to whine about yer electric bill being high cuz of yer pool and said "we could use some help"??? What kinda person does that? It wasnt funny, if humor was yer goal. All you were doing was what? Bragging? Complaining? Either way, it was UGLY. To jump in a thread for ppl in financial need and brag about yer pool, then whine about how YOU need help in paying for it sure takes some kinda ugly minded person.

Yeah, you sure could use some help! Help with yer attitude. Im really happy that youve achieved something to "afford" a pool, but to jump in a thread for ppl in need of REAL utility assistance and claim that YOU could use some help that way cuz of yer pool isnt exactly being considerate or decent. Its just being rude and way too full of yerself and completely inconsiderate of those who are struggling cuz of the financial burdens of disability.

Whatcha did is NO DIFFERNT then jumping into a post about someone dying of cancer and bragging about yer good fortune of being healthy.

we could use some help...just fell over opening this month's electric bill....$462

no joke...yes we have a pool...ie filter on..and yes it has been so ungodly hot the the a/c is being used

but that is twice what we have ever paid in any month in any year in the past 21 years

I truly feel for those with no a/c.....and not enuf money to use it ...

yikes..it better cool off soon...

It does here. For Food stamps, for Social Security, for Legal Aide, for
Food Banks, for Weatherization Programs

Sort of an aside here, but speaking of weatherization programs, the other nite Im sitting here watching tv w/my SO and theres a knock at the door. Some guy with the local gas company doing a door to door inspection thing (fully OK...legit ID, etc.), making offers to anyone who fits within the income levels (which were allot higher than I ever woulda imagined!!!!) By the time this guy left, I had called two very dear neighbors who are barely making it on their SS monies and had set up appointments for them when he was done w/me. This guy did a quick check of my heater, water heater & stove, all of which came out OK, but he said if he'd found problems that since I qualified for this program, they wouldve tried to fix the problem at no cost, and if unable to fix, theyd replace em at no cost to me too. And, he said that as long as I continue to qualify, they will fix or replace the heater & water heater for the next 10 yrs. Helluva program! And he said theyd be back in about 2 weeks to do some weatherization for me too.

The strange part, is that he said that virtually NO ONE really knows about their program! No advertising, nothing. Not so much as fliers put where ppl might find em. So since he's being promoted to head this program for this area, he's starting to canvas neighborhoods when hes NOT on the clock, looking for ppl who need help and tries to get referrals from one place to another. I know I had recently been looking at a home warranty program that covered just the basics that you really need, and it wouldve cost me $36/month! And it just covered the REAL basics, most of what this program covered.

I know theres several Californians who post here, and this particular gas co. covers a great deal of Northern California, so anyone who is even remotely lower income and a home owner can qualify if they are in the PG&E area (Pacific Gas & Electricity), call them!

Here's the correct contact info for anyone who gets gas from PG&E:
1.800.989.9744

, for Medicaid, and on and on and on.

If you live in the same house both incomes count. No matter whether you are
related or not. It is overwhelming. There is nowhere anyone can afford to
live with out a roommate if you are at the bottom of the scale and no
situation where the roommates income does not count including the sliding
fee Federally funded Neighborhood health Center. I know exactly what she is
talking about.

The only way it doesn't count is if you pay rent, utilities, and all that
separate with each of the companies on your own. Otherwise you are one
household. Works real well to keep from having to pay benefits and makes it
look like there are a whole lot less needy people than there are. Check it
out -- you will see. I've tried while my hubby was out of work. Nothing
works.

I do not qualify for any legal aid, as I also did not during the

an intimate relationship.

I'm not trying to be nosey, even though it may seem that I am being
so, but how in hell can your "room-mate's" anything, be considered
part of yours by anybody? Who the hell told you that and why did you
believe them? What's hers is hers and what's yours is yours. Next
time anyone else tells you anything differently tell them to sod off.
You are each separate entities, you may share some living expenses,
but are not one household. Simply say you rent a room from her.

Zomby is 100% correct here! There is no way in hell that 2 unrelated,
unmarried ppl who share a domicile will EVER have the others income
counted in theirs! And it doesnt matter what state yer in too!
