Re: question about refills

Dear hawki63,
I stand corrected. Yes, there is a big difference between the two and I was thinking of on-line. Still, I wouldn't trust using anything but a good old fashioned bricks and mortar walk in pharmacy for my CII's. Sometimes the Dr's office may not have it ready for me to pick it up. If it is ready, it's hard enough finding a pharmacy which has the drugs I use on hand. I usually must go to a couple of different pharmacies to get the drugs at the quantities I need. It can take me a couple of days of searching to find pharmacies which can fill my scripts!

Wow, Cabbi, that sounds tuff. Havent you been able to find a pharmacy that'd order yer meds for you every month? A regular pharmacy? Cuz I think looking for a place each month would get to me fast. At one point, I thought that I'd need to switch pharmacies, and I called another one asking if theyd take me, and they agreed. And I am high dose, so I didnt think it'd be that easy. Turned out I didnt need another pharmacy, but no way could I end up in yer position. Call around, find a pharmacy to help you and keep you from going thru that every month! There ARE compassionate ppl out there who will help.

I certainly do not want to trust
anyone else to go through that effort, as I have only 7 days to fill CII scripts. I've had problems getting drugs prescribed while I was a patient in the hospital! They can't carry every GD drug in every dose and form currently available in the US. (But why NOT! Whaaa!)
Whiningly yours,
Cabbi

I would hate to rely on my on-line pharmacy to get my CII's delivered on
time, accurately.

Nicole was referring to "mail order" pharmacy...not online...big big
difference...

have never had a problem with any script filled that way...(but wasn't
getting sched II mind you)

I just don't trust them or my Dr.'s office to write the

script correctly so that I'd get the stuff on time! Call me a cynic, but
I've been burned by my own Dr's office on getting my scripts out on time.

not sure I understand the above statement...you don't TRUST your doc to
write the script correctly??

or is it you don't always agree with the med given..the dosage given etc
etc...

as for picking up a script already prepared..as LC does...all it takes it
reading the details BEFORE one leaves the office...if it is nOT correct in
any manner...you are right there at the office and can point it
out...granted..you may have to wait for a provider to rewrite the script...

most states..not all.so no jumping on me please...are now using very
sophiscated paper scripts...CA is no longer using what we called
triplicates...three copies...but now are using (for sched meds) a piece of
paper script that is supposedly impossible to change in any way..water
marks...paper turns funny color if any attempt to change details is
made...as I recall...there are still at least two copies..and each
doc/provider must obtain said pads from specific printing places (in the
past it was possible to simply xerox copies)

each script blank is numbered sequentially..and provider must keep
copies..logs..etc...

Yep, getting 90 day rx's for the last 1.5 yrs for schedule 2 meds...

and

all the others.

So yer only seen quarterly now by the doc? I cant picture him letting
that happen.

I just submit the rx like any other. I was really surprised how easy

it

was. My insurance does deliver the meds Fed Ex and I have to sign for
it.. but that's not a big deal, much preferred. I was told that some

of

the mail order pharmacies don't require a signature and will just drop
the meds off at your front door. That's scary

I know someone who had one delivered to the wrong address and just left
w/out signature! They were lucky to get it at all! That was UPS's

doing.

I just wouldnt wanna get my meds thru the mail. I prefer to go to the
pharmacy & pick em up, but I guess if I was told thats the only way I
could get em, that'd be the end of it.

You dont have to wait till the other has been used up, right? So if ya
got yer meds 90 days before, isnt there a lag? Or do they allow you a

few

days with the new script for the processing of the new one?

have you tried a 90 day order? my insurance is practically mandating
all maintenance meds be mail ordered. Schedule II drugs can be mail
ordered- All my meds are done thru the mail now. =(

Yer getting 90 days of Schedule 2 meds at a time???? I didnt even

think

that was legal!

It would be the answer for your problem tho

I am leaving for vaction for 2 weeks. I am going with inlaws and

don't

want them to drive me to find a drug store if you know what I mean,

the

less they know about my personal business the better. My doc knew I

was

going on vacation and gave me a refill on my meds and scheduled my

next

appt in 2 months. I called my doc and told them I needed to pick it

up

a week early and explained why and they said that was fine, just have
the store call them. When I call the store, they told me that I would
have to have my doc call them. This is freaking rediculous...
