Re: Muscle Relaxants / and or narcotics?

from what ive read soma rarely causes physical withdrawals. one of its
metabolites is meprobamate which does cause withdrawal symptoms. its
also used as a muscle relaxant or it used to be. i doubt any new doctor
would even know what it is now or if you mentioned it hed throw you out
of his office. soma seems like a lot safer muscle relaxant then
flexeril in any case. id take cyanide before id take that *** again.

I've been on and off soma for close to 30 years. The only problem I've
found is that, if you haven't taken it in a while, you have to work
your way up to an effective dosage-slowly, or you can lose your
balance. I took these a lot, when I was on parole, and wasn't allowed
any opiates or benzos(the ruling on benzos being reversed after a year,
when a mild heart condition caused me to hyperventilate, and my doctor
put me on Klonipin).

But it's the fentanyl patch that's having a weird effect on me now. My
pain doc is on vacation now, and I've just about decided to ask him to
change it when e comes back. The only problem is that he thinks it's
best for me. But there are some side effects that I haven't even told
him about yet; hopefully, he'll change his mind.

But come to think of it, I've been able to cut back on other meds too;
mainly because I've been ssleeping about 15 hours per day!
