Hip pain . Maybe compressed nerve

Hi all, wondering if anyone here have had this problem.
I've had a hip arthoscope where all surgeon found was a slight tear to
front cartridge, which he repaired. However hip didn't settle down.
After an MRI there was a indication of an Ossified body (which I now
know means a floating bone in the hip / pelvic cartridge area.)
So he got a CT scan done and although I don't have the report, the
scans I do have and in one image I believe I can see the bone.
But this may not totally explain my hip pain
If I or anyone even just pushes very lightly in this area.
Following your groin to where you can feel the top of your hip /
pelvic area, sort of where one's gut ends and pelvic starts. and go
all the way along to you are about 2 inches in from the outside of
your hip.
The pain and tenderness there is unbearable for me.
My GP feels I may have a compressed nerve and I will be getting
surgeon to examine that area this Thursday
Surely a MRI would of picked up a problem there???
Thanks I look forward to any replies
Phil
