Of course the Federal Govt is not hoarding treasure for the Govt, whyYup. Always been robber politicians. Always will be. Absolute power

corrupts, absolutely.
My gripe at this time is that i did in fact work my ass off to provideWithout a doubt. It is part of the risk/reward ratio that we must
a better life for my kids, and i will not bore anyone with a list of
accomplishments. Now when my body does not cooperate with my talents, i
must now prove over the likely course of 2 years, that in fact my body
is broken (what a fun thing to have to argue in favor of) while all
savings and resources melt away to nothing. Again for clarity it helps
to know that i most recently was self employed over the last 4 years. i
can definitely say that i have been short sighted in not having short
or long term disability insurance during that time, however in building
a family business, many things fall by the wayside as you breathe life
into an idea.
consider when becoming an entrepreneur. During start-up many fly
without a net.
My biggest point is that Social Security has been handled poorly for aWhile on the surface I agree, I don't know exactly what you are
long period of time. i will always have a hard time being happy about
cuts in a program that all of us built with our dollars. i also think
there are modifications that can be done fairly that can have a
meaningful impact on the system, whether saving it from the impact of
baby boomers, i couldnt say. In my own selfish, personal way i'd like
to see a more sensible SSDI process that doesnt force me out of the
home i struggled to attain for my family and myself while going through
a poorly staffed system that doesnt truly look at true merits of a
claim until youve been through 2 years of bureaucratic incompetence,
but thats Govt at its best.
talking about as far as your issues with SSDI. I also don't know what
you mean by "losing" your home. Is your home bought & paid for and
you're thing of selling it for cash flow, or are you talking about not
be able to make mortgage payments?
I do think that there should be some type of catastrophic immediate
benefit award while a permanent decision is being made. One of the
reasons the system can be so slow is the scammers & fakers in the
system. My own sister being one of them. At 40 she decided she had
worked long enough and filed one claim after another to Social
Security for disability for one reason or another. It took her about
5 years and numerous different quack Dr's using quack reasons, but she
finally got what she wanted by claiming she was a loon.
The other reason is simply because it is a bureaucratic system. There
is no accountability, no customer satisfaction, no concern for losing
a customer because they are the only game in town. It is never ever
going to change unless the entire system is outsource, and then it
will become a pork barrel project available to the lowest bidder.
I do sincerely feel for you I really do, but it is for the very
reasons you describe that I gave up any faith in my government
"protecting" me & mine from anything, especially economic disaster.
An excellent example of what I am talking about can be seen in those
affected by hurricane Katrina. Those who sat idly by waiting for the
government to help them or tell them what to do got screwed. Those
that took matters into their own hands and got out of dodge are doing
a little better. Long-term those who have adequate private insurance
are doing OK all things considered, but those who are relying on Uncle
Sugar to pick up the tab are going to have a real long wait.
All in all Americans need to learn that while we do have social
programs, America is not a socialist country. We can do for ourselves
better then the government can do for us. Relying on the government
for anything in a timely manner is a fools gambit.

the soldier what he felt when sniping members of Al Quaeda

The soldier shrugged and replied, "Recoil." (Possible Urban Legend)
