All surgeries are dangerous because of anesthesia issues, infection
issues, incompetence issues and so forth. While I haven't had this
particular surgery for CDH, I have had a couple of others. None of
them worked at all and one left me with a headache afterwards that I
would have blown my brains out if I had access to a gun.

I highly suggest getting multiple opinions, case histories and asking
to speak to successful prior candidates.
