All depends on what you mean by support. Questions from posters are
still answered to the best of the people with knowledge on/of the
subjects based on their personal experiences. Even in the mist of the
most explosive flamefest the support portion continues to go on. Now
whether or not the support posts get lost in the overall signal to
noise ratio is unknown to me.

There has been one type of a pissing contest or another been going on
in this group ever since I first started reading it. There seems to
have always been one person (not always the same person) in the
control freak mode and those the support them. Sort of like those
stupid little HS cliques all those years ago.

I too would like to see more personal/interpersonal posts, but when a
person opens up about their family, professional or other aspects of
their life those things are then used to attack that person at some
later date when they do something the other clique doesn't like.

For example I started a little website, nothing fancy, to post
pictures from vacations, of my family and different things I enjoy in
order for people to get to know me better and share some of my travel
experiences with those who aren't able to travel. If you don't know
what happened with some of those pictures drop me an e-mail line and I
will let you know. It wasn't pretty and I ended up taking the site
down.

There are posters to this group who have no intention of posting
anything at all on-topic or helping people and yet are still continued
to be treated as if they were a valuable contributing members. I
suspect, but have no way to prove, that there are a lot more
lurkers/readers of the group then there are active posters. I hope
that they are able to get the information that they need and answers
to their questions when they post them.

Every once in a while you'll see someone new ask some questions and
start participating in the group. It is at this time that some people
usually see fit to drag out all the dirty laundry in order to get this
person to "know" what has transpired in the past and "perhaps" recruit
them into their clique.

There are a couple of absolute undeniable truths of past misdeeds done
by some. I really don't think these need to be continually rehashed
over & over. Some are even turning into group urban legends. People
who haven't posted here in years are still talked about as if they
were just here yesterday. Every once in a while a certain person will
pop up post something inflammatory and sit back and watch the flames
consume the group. I have no idea if it is their idea of fun or not.

Anyhow, the long & short of it is that support does continue to
happen, has always happened and I think we always happen regardless of
what noise is either in the background or foreground. However, I
think people will always be very mindful of posting anything that is
of a personal nature that can be turned around and used against them
and that will impair any level of interpersonal support.
