Sometimes I really do thing you are more then just a tad hard on
yourself. You were in a situation where you were legitimately getting
a medication for a bonafide medical condition and the use of it got
out of your control. You weren't ever turning tricks on the street or
other unsavory activities to get your drugs of choice. I think your
Dr let you down by not noticing your dependency issues as well.

I honestly & truly believe that even though your self-control was
tested and found wanting that you could under a control circumstance
still use stronger pain medications for occasional relief during
periods of major pain activity. Have you ever thought of having your
S.O. or Dr. control your drug access providing dosages to you as
opposed to relying on your self-control?

There has got to be a safe answer to the medicating of those who are
prone to addiction problems. Perhaps a methodology such as used at a
Methadone Clinic? Methadone doesn't really have all that much of an
abuse factor because of its general lack of buzz.

If you smoke often enough you begin smoking just to return to normal, if you can't smoke for some reason you miss it a lot more than an exercise addict misses a day in the gym. ...
