Re: Duragesic Patch Question

Hey everyone I am new to this group thing and wanted to add my input on
this subject. I have had RSD for 10 years and have had 26 knee
surgeries in 22 years and 14 surgeries in the last 4 years on my back
and knee (I've has 2 spinal cord stimulators..1 still in but not
working, a pain pump and about 30 nerve blocks (sympathetic and
epidural). so hello to everyone my name is Gregg.

Another viewpoint on the Duragesic patch...

I used it for about 6 months and had the same reaction (it seemed to be
an allergic reaction with redness, torn up skin, etc.). I spoke to a
friend who is a pharmacist and she recommended that I try it on the top
of my foot. I told her that wasn't in the directions and she said just
try it and it actually worked for me! Also, I asked the doctor to write
the script to change the patch every 48 hours instead of 72 hours and
this helped out a lot as well. Give it a try but do not shave any hair
off your foot before applying and don't use any lotions either.

Good luck!
