Am having some problems with my hand/arm that I had surgery on.
Get pains that kind of shoot up into my upper arm & also a bit if
tingling & numbness in my fingers 0n that hand. Some pain too in my
thumb on that hand.
Don't want to sound like I am whining or over react, so am trying to
figure out if this might be an issue maybe with the cast, maybe from the
work he did around the nerve in the forearm, both, or perhaps just part
of the recovery from the surgery?
What do you all think & what would you do in this situation?
I have had other surgeries & had casts in the past, & usually with each
passing day, things improve, not get worse. Although, I haven't had
nerve involvement in my other surgeries before.
Am I over reacting in this situation?
Suggestions?
I'm with everyone else. Had the same thing when I shattered my wrist. Ortho
said it was from inflammation irritating the nerves and could not be
controlled - but that was before I was in a cast (they did the 'sugar tongs'
thing).
Are you still icing it? Maybe try that till you talk to the surgeon?
