Have any of you dealt with the Family Medical Leave Act at work. It was very tough for me, but I finally had to let my boss know that I will be missing some time either sporadically or for a bit longer if I do surgery. Apparently, the forms to fill out are for my own protection.

In my case, it is prostate cancer, but I figure this groups would know about this.

I don't know a lot about it, but in your case if your employer is large enough to be covered, it would mean your job would be held open for you even if they had to hire someone else temporarily to cover for you.

It doesn't however mean you get paid for the time off, so it isn't a lot of help for some people.
