There will be rest and it will be good. Don't panic please. If nothing else I will come up and help you unpack for a couple of days - been there done that many many times. I am pretty good at following directions. I am sure there are a couple of friends that would do the heavy hauling of boxes that you don't need right away. The secret this time is to have a box or 2 that you put aside that you absolutely know you will need. Towels, soap, toilet paper, clean sheets, reacher, pillows for foot etc. Those things you will need for after the surgery. Just put a few boxes out now that you know that you are definitely moving and every time you walk by them put another thing in. You no longer have to have things neat now.
I also got bright coloured duct tape in 4 different colours. One colour for crawl space (ie: Christmas ornaments, kids boxes etc that were not opened except once a year or maybe not even that), upstairs (things someone else unpacked that I didn't need downstairs), kitchen, living room, my bedroom. I would also get something to mark the now boxes or put those to the side. Those boxes included any cleaning supplies, tools such as screwdriver, picture hooks etc. Hammer! For hitting the person over the head who for the fourth time said "and where does yellow go" (I had signs up at the door telling everyone as well as had told them myself several times - my husband kept telling them - put it wherever!"). It was my smoothest move. A gimp friendly move.
Don't forget there are high school students looking for some work as of this week that might help you pack china etc. I laid everything out on the table except what I would need for a couple of weeks. Then each day myself or one of my friends would pack - it was a great sitting job for me. That way no one packed what I needed for that period of time. The rest was either gotten to or not.
I am holding my breath they accept your offer. Someone to put in your shower and railings would be a blessing! I have my fingers crossed too!
Don't panic in the middle of the night. It will really all fall in place. Might take a couple of weeks after what you figure but it will work out for you. How is the RA holding though? Any sign that the rituxan is working yet? Be warned that when it starts to work the whole process goes straight vertical. One day you still feel like crap and the next you wonder who this new wonderful person is and it continues to get better fast. Of course when it crashes it crashes but if a person can only catch it quickly......maybe the fact that you have another dmard might help that too.
Rose you are an amazingly strong person and I have nothing but respect for you. Just get these couple of weeks under your belt. The report cards and the dissertation will fall into place. Sounds like the dissertation already is. The rest of us will help pray for that house situation. If that doesn't work we can both sleep in my van. You in the back, me in the front seat. A gimp mobile!
Hang in there.
Kelly
