I ordered my stool online. The seat lifts up to make a step ladder. Maybe
you can replace the chair/ladder with a stool/ladder. I love mine. It
slides across the floor so nicely and there is a spot just behind the door
where it fits.

(((((((((((((((((((((((kate))))))))))))))))))))))
A bbbbiiiiiiggggg gentle long hug and prayers for your recovery. I wish I
were there to help you.
***thank youuuuuuu. that's sweet, considering how full your plate already
is.
Oh, kate
Here's a box of Scotties. It's the one I meant to put in the car this
morning before church, but left sitting on the top of the washer.
***oh, good. i didn't get to the store today and i've already gone
through
two boxes.
Are you
sure it's your hips? No gas from the peppers? It could have been
sympathic
pain in your bowels from the cold coming on.
***no, the pain is acute and hits my very low back (it radiated to the
front
of my hips). the first pizza was still in the oven when i knew i'd
crossed
the point of no return and the pain progressed from there. hadn't eaten a
thing. i don't get gas from peppers. this pain is familiar and always
activity/standing/raking/mopping etc. related.
When I get a cold, everything
aches, no rhyme or reason.
***this cold is mainly head cold, very much sinus involved.
How much torque did it take to open the jar of
pesto? Do you have one of those jar openers like the can opener that we
were all talking about a while back?
***no torque. i do have and did use my one touch jar opener.
Did you try a heating pad? Old
fashioned, I know, but it works for me.
***this required my chillow pad, as my back was on fire. my head wanted
the
coolness too, but lost its argument with my demanding spine.
I have to use a stool in the
kitchen to do anything longer than push the buttons on the microwave.
When
I make poached eggs, which isn't very long, I have to use the stool or
it's
back spasms at the hip line.
***i've a wooden chair that unfolds into a small sturdy, step-ladder. the
chair's too short and sitting atop the ladder is too high. no room for a
stool anywhere. and i'm too short not to need the ladder. my back spasms
are higher up my back, mostly at my back ribcage level and sometimes,
though
rarely, just below my back's ribcage (from the base of the back of my
ribcage to the back of my hip).
Here, I'll move over on the bench at the
sandbox and you can sit next to me. I've got some special wine and a
large
box of dark chocolates (the best kind - vitual ones have no calories).
***i'd love to sit a spell with you. your wine sounds nice and
companionable. i too rarely have a glass when there's no one around to
enjoy it with me. if you don't mind, i think i'll pass on the chocolate;
i've had too much of it lately. thanks, sweetness.
love back atcha,
kate

sigh . . .
can't rake my yards, can't use a spade to dig a hole, can't hoe, can't
weed
whack, can't use my riding mower, can't vaccuum, can't sweep with a push
broom or regular broom, can't mop the floors, can't shop anywhere without
a
motorized cart, can't walk a city block, can't stand in a line to wait
for
anything, can't stand on a pier to fish (sob), can't ride a bicycle.
can't.
can't. can't.
and last night i discovered i can't even stand long enough to make a damn
pizza (well, two pizzas; one to freeze) at home, even when i buy the
pizza
dough already made from my favorite pizza restaurant. come onnnn! how
long
does it take to slice bell peppers, artichokes, soft mozzarella cheese
and
to open a jar of pesto and spread it on the soft dough (that all you had
to
do was grab at its edges and let gravity stretch it -- all of a maybe a
minute.) and top with the sliced stuff?
gees, what a "backache"! got so bad, from just that tiny effort, even
sitting down didn't relieve it a bit. since when does low back pain
radiate
around to the front of you hips?--the debilitating low back pain is
familiar, but going to the front of my hips isn't and it's hellacious.
naturally, you can add back spasms to that crapola. and i think the back
pain even gave me a headache last night from trying to cope with it.
took
pain pills. gave up and went to bed and just tried to melt away into the
mattress. . . .and i'm still feeling it, today, from making those
pizzas
last night. this is just ridiculous! grrrrrr . . .
plus, i tink i haba code or hallurgies flarewing and i haba stuffy nodes.
i'm cranky. tink i need a hug.
i already had xrays on my low back done. doc said it must be referred
pain,
from someplace else in my deteriorating spine, cuz she didn't see
anything
in the xrays to account for the drop me to my knees pain.
i can type, can watch tv, can drive, can shop with a motorized cart, can
use
a swivel sweeper, can pet and lub my kitties, can (though barely make it
through it) clean their litter boxes, can use paper plates and eat lean
cuisine<g>, can read, can oil paint, can write, can go to the mailbox in
my
car, can use a telephone, can shower, can dress myself, can tie my shoes
(but usually only when they come untied, cuz i slip them on already
tied<g>), can do my research, can still design stuff, can laugh, can
feel,
oh cooooool! i can enjoy the raccoon that just snuck onto my patio right
this minute! soooo big and pretty. i can do lots of stuff! can. can.
can.
just counting my blessings. but somehow my eyes are leaking anyhow.
just
gave myself a hug while coughing my head off.
