I'm going to see my primary physician again on Thursday.
I saw his sub at first who prescribed P/T. I also saw a trainer (sports
teams; I teach at a University)
The pain is in the SI area and the "dx." was SI pain.
No scans/tests/mri's yet.

mel,
i've lost all my asa posts when mozarella crashed, so can't go back to
find
the answers my questions. would you be kind enough to briefly restate the
answers to these questions about your painful situation:
what kind of medical doctor has clinically examined you and has been
treating you for this painful situation?
has s/he done any diagnostic imaging or tests, like xrays, mri, blood
tests,
etc. etc.?
what was the diagnosis for which this doctor prescribed the physical
therapy
you are getting?
thank you for taking the time to answer these for me, mel.

Since 1/1/09, my back went out and has been bad. Unfortunately, today it
is
much worse than that. The pain has gotten severe. I had stopped taking the
ibuprofin; I just have an aversion to taking it. The medication seems to
mask the pain, but doesn't seem to solve the problem. But I had to get
back
on it. This time, I'm trying Aleve. The P/T is not helping so far. I'm
going
to try and give it a few weeks more. But I can see that without the pain
pills, I can't function at all. This is not a good situation and it is
worsening, rather than improving. So, that's taking center stage at this
end. It is going to be tough teaching in this condition. In the back of my
mind, if things don't improve, it may be time for me to give this up and
that's a scary, very unpleasant thought. I am one of those who love doing
the job, but all of a sudden it's tough.
I'll try and give P/T 2-3 more weeks to come up with something that helps.
If that doesn't work, I'll see a chiroprater. Failing that, I will consult
with a neurosurgeon, although I still don't think it's a disk problem.
Perhaps arthritis?
Mel
