oh man, they are going to get caught doing this and everyone will be in
trouble.
They do check up on this stuff and ding you for it.
I know one time someone at the unemployment office screwed up because Jim
puts in for his work when he works it but then gets paid on a different time
period. So someone didn't pay attention to this, they were going to kick Jim
off unemployment and not let him get it ever again and they were going to
make him pay back the money he received for not working for those weeks and
also pay a penality. At least we had the paper work to prove he worked on
certain days which he claimed but didn't get paid till the next two week
period that went in on unemployment. We were lucky.

A friend of mine just told me that his boss had everyone in his company
sign on for unemployment, but he is making them come to work. So they are
being paid unemployment insurance, but still working. This way he (the
boss) doesn't have to pay them. I know this has to be majorly illegal. My
friend is afraid to report his boss as the guy has a real temper and he's
afraid of the ramifications and the fact that he won't get any kind of
reference which will make it impossible for him to get a different job. Is
there a way for him to let the state know what's going on and do it
anonymously?
What a mess!
