markedly weaker and there's nothing they can do.  She thought it was because
they temporarily took her off one of her
meds during a recent infection, but that isn't the case.  She wept when she
told us earlier; it just now hit me.  I know she's been living on borrowed
time for a while now, but this came on so fast.  A few days ago she was
doing okay.
    Star is my neighbor in the apartment building here, my partner in crime,
my scootering buddy, my road trip navigator (she always rides shotgun), and
my dearest friend.  We're always together.  She calls my mom "ma."  I don't
ever remember laughing with anyone as much as we have and yet having deep
conversations as well .
    Please include her in your prayers, or good thoughts, or whatever moves
your heart.  I love her dearly and watching her go will be so very hard..
