Chief, it does read it almost instantly. And I guess Medicare pays for mine
with no problem. I had to change doctors because mine moved to the
Cleveland Clinic and I have still never had to pay anything, and have
appointments just to go for the readings. In fact, I go today at 1:30. I
thought about changing doctors again to get one closer to me, but at Baptist
South I have valet parking at no charge because I have a handicapped
sticker. If I go to Baptist East nearer me, I have to ride around until I
can find a parking place in the very big parking lot and then have to walk
to the building. It's cheaper just to go to town! And I don't have to
walk!

I don't have to have blood drawn from a vein for my reading.
I just get a finger stick.
Is that the "instamatic reading" instrument?
My doctor has one, but insurance won't pay for an office visit
just to obtain a reading. So she writes a standing order and
I visit the lab every other Wednesday for a blood draw.
Occassionally the date will match the standing order from the
rheumy and the lab takes all the blood they want with 1 needle. <G>
Until recently I had to visit one lab for the PCP's test, then
walk 1/2 block to another lab for the rheumy's test. The PCP
finally wrote her standing order to the rheumy's lab.
