Re: My own questions - UPDATE

I get that regularly MM. Then we go another year fine and then another. He figures they are probably small kidney stones and that the pain is such that I don't even notice it or think it is an interstitial cystitis attack. As he says my tolerance for those is pretty high and most of the time I just live with them for a day or two. I would not panic in the meantime - it is a good thing that it showed atypical cells. They also figure that if others got their blood and urine samples done as often as we do they would see more atypical cells and results more often. We now know that my urine is always showing more wbc than it should. We just up the level. Took my rd quite a while before he got blassay (how do you spell that word!) about it. he now no longer panics.

Let us know in a couple of months how it goes. Will be hoping it comes back clear this time.

I saw the urologist yesterday. Big surprise (not).....cytology showed atypical cells. No clear reason for the blood in my urine. Could be anything from an irritation (kidney stone) to a benign tumor. We're going to watch and wait. I go back in 2 months for another cytology.

Now, on to the PC to see about my asthma......

does this merry-go-round ever stop???

OK, I know that RA is an inflammatory process. I know that asthma is an inflammatory process (calling PC tomorrow for appointment to discuss increased use of rescue inhaler over the last month).

What are signs that one's kidneys are inflamed? The urologist said last week that I'm not infected but that I do have blood in my urine. No real clue about what's causing it. I go back on Wed to urologist. He sent my last specimen for a cytology exam.

SIGH...................
