Home again and walking! (rather long)

I'm home again, came home yesterday afternoon. Knee working fine, but back
is sure sore. I think it was the bed at the rehab, which worked fine, but
the mattress was nothing more than a rubber coated floppy pad. I did have a
private room, but that wing doesn't provide TVs or telephones, so I used up
a bunch of minutes on my cell phone. I didn't take credit or debit cards,
so had to add time with "check system".

I have a Iceman device home to put on my knee; I may put it on my back. I
was quite nauseated this morning, but we think it may be the arthrotec that
I tried to go back on. I had my Coumadin through yesterday morning, but I
didn't think of it when the rehab doctor reviewed the prescriptions I
needed.

PT was great with great people. I was walking two days after surgery, but
not very well. I went to rehab on Saturday (four days postop). Day one and
two there, I went down in a wheel chair. The third day I was walking down
with my walker. The past couple of days, was walking without a walker.
I'm trying to remember to walk correctly. They have one or two of those
Nustep machines at PT. I got up to level 4 (of possible 10) and did 2000
steps. I don't have a pedaled of any sort here at home, so will try to get
some walking in after tomorrow when the home PT people come out to evaluate
the place. I'm doing the other exercises that I can remember they told me
to do. For endurance, I am lifting one pound (approx) with each hand and
doing lifts and punches. Did you know that a soup can weighs a little more
than a pound?

We are not going to family Thanksgiving today. My granddaughter has some
kind of virus and I definitely don't need that. We're going to a local
restaurant. Well, need to elevate knee again for a while so will talk to
y'all later.
