is 75 baby boomer age???? (sounds more like the korean war
generation, just before the boomers.)
I thought "baby boomers" were those born after WW II - when GIs
were returning home and those hormones took over - but before
the Korean War.
***no. boomers were born between 1941-1950. not only just after the war
(boomers are the war babies too. otherwise that "war baby" generation would
only have a 4 year span and not 10, like the rest of the labeled
generations.). i meant 75 sounded like GIs' generation who actually fought
in the korean war. the younger brothers of the ww2 vets.
They would be about 58-63, since the article stated they are
"approaching retirement age."
***no. it would be 67 on the high end, cuz 2 years ago the leading edge of
the boomers started collecting social security at full retirement age, but
the majority is a couple of/few years younger.
Then there was a story 4 or 5 weeks ago concering the 40-year-old
women who complained that they were not old enough to be called
"grandmother."
I guess it mars their image of themselves and causes them to lose
that "youthful" feeling.
***LOL! it must be tough for the vainest among us to accept their age.<g>
But through the 50's and possibly 60's, it was not uncommon to
meet 34- or 35-year-old grandmothers.
***actually, i knew of several who were 32-33 back then.
