LOL! If, when Emily was in 8th grade, you had told us that at 31 she have
only her dissertation to finish for her PhD...... well, if we'd believed
you, it would have been a HUGE relief! how do parents (and step-parents)
survive?

Speaking of which -- feel free to send out more prayers for Emily whenever
and wherever. She's coming up on a year of this major fatigue and is
about
to start her 9th month of spiking fevers up over 100 every afternoon. The
docs can't figure it out. They now have her going to the Mayo Clinic in
Jacksonville, to many docs, but she can only handle so much on each trip
up
there. Needless to say, it is incredibly frustrating for both her and her
(sweet & supportive) husband. Summer of '07, she was hoping to get her
doctorate this coming December, but things are on hold while they put
their
energies towards trying to solve this.

I've suggesed she & I form the Mysterious Ailments Society.
