I agree with Kate. Mine lasted about 7 months, though, and the second set
didn't last at all so I did not go back for a third. Each of us responds
differently, but I fully agree....get someone else to drive you, and rest
for at least 24 hours afterward. Other than that, it's a truly personal
decision, but I'd say go for it.

Not only do I have the joy of being in a major flare, my lower back is
giving me fits. There is constant pain and my left leg goes numb
regularly. My hips are also on fire, so I saw my orthopod about that
and he decided to do MRI's of both.
Yesterday I got a voicemail message stating that "there are problems
from L4 to S1. I think you would benefit from epidural injections."
He then said his secretary would send me the MRI report and paperwork
so I could schedule the injections with the pain specialist at the
hospital.
So, I don't know what "problems" means yet and I am hesitant to commit
to injections until I do. I am thinking of putting them off until I
can see a spine specialist, but the pain has me unable to stand
straight much of the time.
So, here's my questions. What have the group members' experiences
been with epidural injections for back pain? And, what course of
action would you suggest - go for the shots or wait until I can see a
spine specialist?
Thanks!
Walt
