Re: Knee setback/rant

I just wanted to say I hope you get to feeling better soon..
My first scope was alot like yours...and come to find out..the doctor really didn't fix anything...
5 years later and I am having trouble and go to another doctor...thank goodness..
He scoped it on the 29th of July...I had a huge piece of cartridge floating around under my knee cap and the backside of my knee cap was a mess...So he cleaned it out and ended up making an incision about 2 inches long to get that "boulder" out...lol
He didn't talk with me after surgery, but when I was waking up in recovery, I heard him say...tell her we took a boulder out of her knee 3cm x2cm...
That's why I had the bigger cut...I was on my crutches about 2 days...
My knee is still tender from the incision, and it hurts about a 2...
but I also have lots and lots of arthritis and I knew up front that this would not take away my arthritis pain...Dr said so...Said we could control the pain with meds and shots...OH and I also have psuedogout...so yeah this causes trouble when I have a flare...
But my rom of great and we are trying to get me as close to that 60 year mark as we can...lol..
Since I plan on living until I am 100.....I plan on having a few revisions...lol

Now back to the surgery...I have had a Knot on the outside of my knee forever...I have asked every doctor what the heck...It floats...and when it would get under my knee cap...OUCH a Mamma...I knew it was not suppose to be there...but all I ever got was the deer in the headlight look when I ask about it...
Well the Knot...aka The BOULDER that dr took out..walah...I think I am going to be okay..Am I still in some pain...Yeah..Hey but I have been in pain my whole life...I thought it was normal...
What I can't deal with is when the knee would swell and it would make me immobile..YIKES...
Any ways..
My short story told the LONG Way...
Hope your knee continues to heal...and the next time you see that assistant...Slap her...

I had very recently posted that my knee was coming along. In fact, things were really improving to the point where maybe 70% of the time I couldn't tell you which knee had been operated on!

But I had a nasty setback today at my P/T. I didn't have my regular therapist. I had a P/T assistant and she had me do some things that just messed things up. Also, one of the things my therapist had been doing was knee massage to break up the scar tissue. This one seemed to do it differently. My usual therapist would massage the area and rotate her thumbs on it. This one just kept pressing down and it hurt like hell. It still hurts. I've been limping all day. I'm hoping things resolve again quickly. Frankly, I'm pretty pissed. I was actually planning to cancel the remainder of my P/T sessions as all seemed to be under control.

I'm hoping no damage was done and a few days of rest and ice will resolve matters!

Dammit.
