You are so right about decision making in an emergency situation. The
last time I went in through the ER, I was at the mercy of a hospitalist
doctor who acted like a tyrant. The second day there I had to scream
like a lunatic to get him to order my blood pressure meds. Everyone was
running around crazy because my BP was sky high and he wouldn't listen
to me. My GP no longer goes to the hospital and my endo doc was not
even notified. After five days I was begging to be released.
When it's an emergency situation we put ourselves completely in the
hands of a stranger and hope for the best.
