Re: dee tee

If they can get you in soon you should be over the worst of it DeeTee. I
had the sore throat today and took tylenol (didn't do a thing for it.).
Since no results I imagined somehow that it was a slight reaction to the
infusion although 24 hours later - took benedryl and sure enough no problems
with the throat until the benedryl wore off. Apparently I did finally get
the darn side effect but pretty mild compared to last time.

Have my fingers crossed for soon! By September you should be feeling much
better although the med won't have kicked in yet I am afraid. Will your
doctor give you a medrol pack??

Thanks. I was thinking it would probably mirror my chemotherapy
sessions....I hurt and was exhausted the day of, slept through the day
after, and then by the third day, was back to just being tired all the
time. We'll see. I'm anxious to get started because we are supposed to
drive to Maryland the second weekend of September. I want to be over the
worst of the two infusions before then so I can enjoy my family.

Thanks for the heads up...
DeeTee

Hi Dee Tee (am addressing to the group as well in case anyone else is
nearing rituxan),
I talked to my nurse practitioner and she said that most people are only
having a day or two of fatique after the rituxan treatments and that is
due to the benedryl and the day in the chair. I suspect mine is due to
the side effects I had and also that I get twice as much prednisone to
counteract that, and that I have 2 days instead of one in the infusion
chair each time (twice as much benedryl etc). So I suspect it will not
be a fatiquing for you. I did feel a little better at the week and a half
point this round.

Just thought I would let you know. I am slowing meeting the odd person
in the infusion room that is getting rituxan. They sleep through the
procedure (lucky people) and have no problems whatsoever. Just so you
know that Donna and I seem to be the exemption to the rule.

Also met a guy who is taking a trial med that will hopefully be released
in a year or so. He says it is like he never had RA, gets no side
effects or RA effects in between his 28 day infusions, is infused for
only 2 hours at most I would say from start to finish. So another coming
down the tube eventually. It is a Canadian based research med and is not
a tnf receptor. So hope again arises!

Kelly
