Re: Strange Allergic Reaction

My vet said that since it's (I use Frontline Plus on my dogs) systemic and gets into the body, humans live too long and the build-up after many years of use would be lethal. Dogs and cats have a shorter life span, so it's not really a consideration as it would be in humans. (Plus animals are considered to be more 'expendable' than a human.) As old as I am, my dogs may outlive me, so why can't I start on it? LOL

I am sure they put you on antibiotics didn't they?? I would think a must if this started as a tick
bite.

good luck with that but ask about antibiotics for sure. Know this from experience with a patient
that had a tick bite.

The good news(gotta be an upside to everything, I suppose) is that I'm
already on an antibiotic, doxicycline, for Lyme disease. Two weekends
ago, I had the major flu symptoms, icluding fever, chills, headache.
Ticks are the bane of my existence, honestly. This is my third bout of
Lyme disease. Also, I'm using a triple antibiotic cream topically.
Hopefully, no infection will develop, which is what really complicates a
burn, and this is how the derm doc is treating this.

Some people go on antibiotics every time they find a tick. I cannot do
that. If I take them like that, I'd never be off the drugs. I just
have to balance a judicious use of antibiotics with symptoms of Lyme.
My doc agrees. I hate ticks.
