First of all, Kelly, let me wish you safe travels and a most refreshing,
relaxing, renewing time away!!!
Second of all, yep, I hope everyone will take a day off from their pain
and frustrations and just do something extra nice for themselves!
I will follow Jo in sharing some of my good news / special happenings.
It's kind of funny, Kelly, that you would suggest this, as just last
night I was laying in bed and looking back through Diane C's book and as
I looked at her picture in the back, I thought, this lady is a real
inspiration. She is so very talented, has been through so much, yet is
always so encouraging and upbeat, not to mention, she is just one
incredibly beautiful lady! I dream of a day when ALL of us can get
together, meet one another, share some food and lots of laughs, etc.
together. So many here have been through so much more and are such
incredible reminders to the rest of us on how to deal with whatever life
throws us! I am sooooo thankful for that. I was also most thankful
today, at the lung doctors office, to witness the miracle of that young
kid "accidentally" coming to the wrong office and yet coming to an
office where a lung doctor that could provide immediate help for him was
there. I also had another "miracle/blessing" happen this evening. Good
friends of mine called this evening while I was laying down and they
left me a message asking me to call them back as soon as I got home.
Well, I called them back and they ask me if I was still using webtv. I
said yes and they asked me if I ever got frustrated with it, I again
said yes and they said we would really like you to get a computer and
have been talking about that for the last week or two and would very
much like to buy you a computer! Huh??? How in the world do I ever
get so lucky with such incredible generous friends??? After talking a
while about what things I would like in a computer (which isn't really
all that much) the one thing I did mention was that I would prefer a
laptop to a desktop. My friend said no problem. We will get you a
laptop and one that will at least do all the basics like word
processing, allowing me to do some banking online, opening attachments,
etc. They are leaving to go to a family reunion and said they would
take care of getting the computer as soon as they get back! At one
point I just started crying and said they were being way too generous
and it wasn't necessary for them to do this. They said they wanted to
do it and they thought it would be good for me to have the computer.
They said, you have done so much for our family over the years, and this
is something we really want to do, so please let us. Ok, wow, I am so
excited not to mention incredibly blessed!!! I just don't know how
this always happens??? I mean, last summer I was gifted a new flat
screen tv, a new (to me anyways) mini van which has really turned out to
be a huge blessing, the portable CD player from my ASA family which has
also been a huge blessing to me, especially during my monthly infusions,
and now a new computer?! These all are such incredibly generous and
huge gifts/blessings! Just doesn't get more blessed than that!!! Not
to even mention that I am blessed beyond words with the best and most
loving, supportive friends, family, and church family!!! Last but not
least, just knowing that I cleared my calendar and will now have several
down days to just recoup and refresh a bit is already a help!
Oh, and, Kelly, as much as we hate the rituxan infusions, we both know
how much it helps once we get past the side effects. So, girlfriend,
know that I will be right there along with you when you go for yours and
we WILL get through them and then we WILL see improvements!!! What a
blessing it is that we HAVE this medication available to us!!!
So, here's to you, Kelly, and to all of my ASA family!
May each of you find time to do something special for yourselves and
that will renew your spirits!!!
May each of you be as blessed as I am or more so!
May each of you know how very special and very loved you all are and how
important you are to your ASA family!!!
Hugs,
..
