I know it's tough, but try to suck it up and make an appointment with thie
PCP again - or if one of your friends has a stellar PCP, try to get in
there.
***called my pcp adn have an appmt. for thursday@ 2:45. i keep thinking
today is wednesday, for some goofy reason. probably because i lost the
daylight hours yesterday, having slept through most of them (thank goodness
i saved those pain pills!)
Type out your symptoms in greater detail than you have here and take it
with
you as a place for her to begin so you aren't immediately intimidated by
anything she might say.
***sigh . . . it's strange, i know, but once i begin to feel a little
better, my mind wants to erase unpleasant details. there wasn't a whole lot
to it, i suppose. thinking about it . . . i'm sure it was caused by too
much of a walking challenge at our local super wally world. increased lower
righthand pain, very low right back (felt like post-op pain to me, that
intense and type). by the time i got through checkout and was waiting for
carryout help, i started getting a bit shocky, perspired profusely and
shakey/shivering cold, a little nauseated (tried to distract myself by
talking to a lady being checked-out.--she must have thought i was an overly
friendly nutcase.LOL). moving/adjusting/turning intensified
it--yelped/moaned/groaned a lot, in the car on the drive home, because it
was a release and relief to do so--helped me focus enough to drive safely
(only 2 miles).
got home about 6:30pm, hard to walk into the house with my cane of course,
and decided to hell with carrying things in (yesterday when i felt better,
had to throw out some frozen foods and dairy items i forgot about and left
in the car overnight.). got inside and sat down on the first chair i saw to
gather myself. couldn't decide if the pain was referred from my lower
lumbar spine or my hip, cuz it was inbetween them both. remembered the
leftovers from the sept. prescription around 8pm. took one of those,
tylenol 3. went to bed. waited a little over 3 hours while willing myself
to relax to help it work. gave up. got up. sat in butch's chair and
distractedly/half-assed watched tv until about 2am, then took another pill
(6 hour dose instruction). came in here and distracted myself by posting.
couple of hours later the second pill finally made a difference, enough to
go lie back down and even slept a couple of hours after awhile. monday i
felt a little better. but decided not to let the pain get as bad. took
another pill. sat in butch's chair until it started to work and then, slept
the daylight away. now, i need to send this to myself, so i can hand
copy/write it down--haven't installed my new printer yet.
Regardless of what else is going on with you, a
mental impasse is fairly normal for anyone who is sleeping as poorly as you
are. It works for cats, but humans need at least some prolonged sleep for
the body and mind to rejuvenate. once you get this dealt with some, then
you
can deal with whether to change doctors or not. Also, taking this package
of
issues to your current PCP will give you a chance to assess how she
responds.
***sensible.
Make a plan to take it one step at a time. My recommendation: see the
current PCP to get stuff squared away so you are functioning a bit better,
then you can deal with the which doctor stuff. Oh, and you can come to the
group with whatever she tells you and we'll *help* you stay on top of things
with her!
thank you, sweetie. ;that was helpful.
