My doctor gave me a refillable prescription for pyridium. It's the only
thing that keeps me sane until I can get into see the doctor. I've had a
UTI every month since October. I have an appointment with a urologist in
January. Pray for me, folks, that there is something they can fix - those
UTIs are for the birds.

A - pyridium. I keep it in my cupboard at all times - makes you pee orangy
red but boy does it work when you have an infection and need to get to a
doctor and can't yet. I also use it for my interstitial when it gets bad.
Glad you didn't wait too long (bg) and obviously she meant you to come in
if your labs were overdue (big lecture from me on that one aim girl! Not
worth it at all)
Lay low. Everything else will get done in time and this needs to be taken
seriously. Will be thinking of you.

So this morning was just as bad as last night. You know you're talking
about a lot of pain when someone with a chronic pain condition ends up in
tears due to the pain while trying to pee. So as soon as I got to work I
called my doc. Her office wasn't open yet but I left a detailed message.
Her MA/receptionist called me RIGHT back and said "I called her at home,
she wants to see you immediately and will meet you here at the office on
her lunch break at 12."
I went in and did a culture. Do you know how HARD it is to get a clean
culture with a bladder infection? Seriously. The pee-stop-wipe-pee thing
doesn't WORK. You are either gushing or not peeing at all. There is no in
between. Stopping was nearly impossible - I had to wipe while peeing.
LOVELY. Anyway, there were clots in the sample and it was Nitrite (?)
positive. So in other words, yeah duh I have a bladder infection. A
pretty severe one. I had a fever too.
So as we're talking she says "that's a pretty bad cough. You know, when
it's an acute/urgent appointment I only usually handle one complaint, but
I'm not letting you walk out of here with a cough like that without
listening to your lungs." She decided they sounded a bit tight and wheezy
and may actually be asthma. So a total of 3 prescriptions. She was
somewhat UNimpressed with my tendency to let things go (like the cough).
She told me that my bladder was acting up cuz it was telling me to get
that cough checked out ;-) So I got the same lecture from her as from you
all.
Her dog, who comes to work with her, came in the room with me and kept
farting and then looking at me like it was me!! We were both giggling.
The dog was like "what. I did nothing."
And she happened to notice I had blood work due at the beginning of
December and hadn't done it yet so she had her MA/receptionist draw my
blood right then and there.
Have I mentioned how much I really like her?
She's culturing the sample to make sure it isn't some weird
drug-resistant bacteria, but in the meantime I am on Septra and some
bladder pain stuff starting with a P and she says I should feel a lot
better really soon.
Thank you all for caring as much as you do. I <3 you all.
Aim
