Re: I am so over this insurance hell

M - I wonder what would happen if you wrote to "Arnie" about this. Maybe
something could be done on an individual basis. Or call your local TV
station and see if they have an advocate there. If nothing moe the plight
would be out in the open and maybe someone could step in to stop it.

Just a thought, DeeTee

This is what good ole Arnie is doing for us huh.

Oh M, I hope something works out for you and soon. I understand this
issue all too well as you know since I can't afford insurance at all.

Jo the squirrely one
I am nuts about you.

So I opened my little holiday gift from my insurance company (CIGNA)
and found that my rates had gone up (actually everyone's rates had
gone up) 48.6 percent . I will now be paying 1850.86 cents for health
insurance. It is a matter of mortgage or insurance. i do not have
that kind of money. This reminds me too much of last year when pac
advantage pulled out of california leaving me with Kaiser which was
basically no insurance. i spent the month of December doing all the
things like DEXA scans, cat scans. I am beginning to dread
December.

So I think I have two options; moving to Missouri where I can get
insurance through my Uncle's company or going on disability. I
probably qualify for disability. It is just a shame though, to enter
that system because I can't afford health insurance. There is
something very very wrong with this system that makes it impossible
for people to afford health care insurance.

I am thinking about a little performance art project where I will get
a friend to come a shoot (video) me, head down to the mall, make some
signs explaining the fact that CIGNA has raised rates to an
unaffordable level, and panhandle for insurance money. Of course, I
would get no money but for sure I can post that on youtube and
possibly bring a little awareness to the issue. What the "system"
loses with me going on disability is significant but i have to tell
you i am sick of spending time chasing health insurance.
