Re: catching up

Nann,

still thinking of you and sending healing thoughts, wisdom for the drs to
know what the heck you are dealing with and fix it once and for all. Prayers
that all goes well and it is something fixeable and that you heal quickly.

Prayers going out for Lynne too.

Jo the squirrely one

Ok, I'm almost done reading through all the posts I downloaded through
Sunday
morning. Things have been insanely busy lately. If any of you heard
about a
small church in NE Michigan lsing its roof Sunday morning, that was one of
our churches when 12 members of the St. Paul Episcopal Church Gospel Choir
from Flint pretended they were a choir of 50. This was the second year
they've come up and sung for us and it was again wonderful.

On other stuff: My PCP signed off on me last Thursday at my physical and
urged me to be patient with the process all these specialists are
torturing
me with. He was sympathetic to my cries of having more interesting things
to
do, but agrees that the enlarged lymph nodes should be checked out in
light
of my weird labs. We're doing my follow-up bone density in hopes of
gettting
me off Fosamax for a while. Cross your fingers, that stuff is a pain to
take.

My dentist signed off on me Thursday PM - only one little hint of a cavity
that he'll fill next month before it becomes more of a problem. Good
idea,
with my lousy teeth! We'll start on the next crown after the first of the
year.

Drove cross-state to see my surgeon Friday. Everything's on to "pluck
out" a
lymph node this Thursday. He said they were definitely enlarged on CT,
some
were really "juicy". sigh......... a real sign of turning 50 when the
part
of you that young men call "juicy" is a lymph node....... He's holding
out
hope of doing it laproscopically, but may need to make an incision large
enough to get his hand in. 1-3 nights in the hospital, but Mike has
services
Sunday, so hopefully only 2.

Friday evening through Sunday noon was mostly taken up with the visiting
choir, though I took Saturday off for some housework, rest and college
football. (Go Gators!) Yesterday we went walking at a nearby state park
with Puddin' Cat on his leash and plum wore him out. Much too sunny of a
day
for a cat as hairy as he and he won't jump in the lake as a dog would.

In and amongst all of this, I've been reading Harry Potter which Mike got
at
the library Friday. Need to get to finishing it so Mike can have it!

We'll leave for Petoskey either tomorrow afternoon or Thursday morning,
depending on when they schedule me - they can't tell me a time until
tomorrow. Luckily they have a decent and affordable Hospitality House
there
where we have reservations. Please cross your fingers that somewhere
between
this biopsy and the hematology appointment next week we finally get some
answers about what's going on!

Oh, and an update on Mike's cousin-in-law, Lynn (no "e", it turns out).
Her
cancer is all breast cancer, with metastases to various places. From the
email we got last week: "Today we met with the oncologist. She said that
Lynn is not a typical case. Lynn doesn't have any outward symptoms (pain,
discomfort, soreness, etc.) which typically is found in a cancer patient.
She also conferred with about 6 of her colleagues to get their opinions.
She suggested that Lynn does an anti-estrogen treatment. This will starve
and reduce the cancer - hopefully putting it into remission." She's
already
started on the treatment. I'm adding Lynn to my DeeTee bracelet for now.
I
know it'll be alright with our genorous-hearted DeeTee. ;-)
