Re: lurking and/or MIA - me, that is

((((((((((((((((((((((nann)))))))))))))))))) i can sooo relate to the
"meatcleaver urge". i think we are both most fortunate that we love
ourselves too much to be that brutal to ourselves.<g>

boy, any kind of foot pain is the pits. i always find it amazing how
something as tiny as a toe can demand and command so much attention!

my first thought, when you were talking about dunes, was ohhhhh . . . being
buried in nice warm sand up to my chin would seem like heaven.LOL but
walking on deep sand would be hell.

you do have a busy calender, but it does sound like good medicine for you,
sweetie. enjoy.

nann, it was so good to see you back on asa today! your'e so missed,
but it sounds like you have plenty going on, so we understand. I am
floored you could do the kind of camping activity/hiking/dune climbing
you did! wow! no wonder you're flaring. i hope you can get that under
control soon. enjoy the rest of the summer.

ummmmmmm, have I mentioned my stubborn streak lately? LOL Actually, for me
- in fact, for both of us - camping and day hiking is as vital as paddling
is
to Mary Z. It's a spiritual refreshment/renewal type thing. The problem
her
is that Michigan parks are overwhelmingly designed to cram in as many RVs as
possible, whereas we prefer more isolated tent sites and not having to pay
for hokups we don't even use! We've tried, and rejected, most of the state
parks. Have one or two we still like and this National Park and the
township
campground we ended up in were both quite nice. Mike is now 62 and just got
the Senior Pass, so I think we'll return there a lot!

I couldn't do it without Mike though. He knows we can only tent camp as
long
as he can handle the stakes and do most of the water fetching. And he does
the driving (he's a lousy passenger, anyway!). We keep our meals simple and
use a lot of teamwork in doing stuff. He usually gets the fire going. He's
blessed to have someone who wants to camp as long as possible and I'm
blessed
to have someone who makes it possible for me to do what I no longer can
alone. And we're both blessed that we have don't a meat cleaver in the
house
for me to cerry out some of the home amputations I've been threatening some
of my joints with!
