I've read about countries where the facilities are a simple hole in
the floor. I wonder how handcapped and gimps deal with them?

i ran into the "hole in the floor facilities" dilemma in japan in 1983 (some
out of the way restaurants and the bullet train platform). i couldn't use
them at all and had to force myself to wait until i could find european
facilities (on the train itself or ask to use the facilities at an adjacent
place of business). alll the newer or larger restaurants had european
facilities.
