But it is so frustrating. Especially the part where there isn't
anything I can do about it!

Hhhhm,,,, The OOoonly place in the world to get what you need. I think
not. The only way to make them treat people better is,,,,,,take your
business elsewhere. Oooh, if you are someone like me, I will do that
after going up the chain as far as I can go and give that person hell
about your problem.

That's why its so frustrating. Once you have this implant, it one time
only for that ear. It pretty much destroys the cochlea. I can get
batteries anywhere, but the coil is one of a kind and the cable is hard
wired into it.

Now my surgeon on the other hand, doesn't have to use their brand anymore.
And there are darn few surgeons that implant these things. They certainly
all know each other and talk to each other.

They certainly aren't going to use a product that breaks down and doesn't
have parts readily available.

I remind myself I could be much worse off. I don't have to go to work. I
don't have to explain to my child why they can't hear this week. But that
just makes me mad as well as frustrated.

Jo,

Sorry you are going through this and wishing you lots of patience and verses
of the Serenity prayer (God grant me the wisdom to accept the things I
cannot change...).

Lots of love - Adelle
