Take one day at a time and if that is too much go by the hour. There is no
time limit on grief, no person is too old or too young to be missed. Sounds
like a special person.

As to the flare - can they give you a prednisone pulse or shot to get you
over the worst. Give your body a little extra tlc - lots of rest, splints,
hot showers, whatever it takes. As for the gentle hugs, the best thoughts
and the healing thoughts - well that is a given. I will be sending them
your way.

Hope this flare ends quickly but don't be afraid to ask for help with it.

I know I have been AWOL for a long time. My life filled the plate and then
flowed over in spades. My computer committed suicide plus my father
started failing--several trips to Alabama--and the flares to go with it.

My father--as Squirrely told you--passed away very quietly May 22.
Somehow it seems that the sun is not as bright and the earth is spinning
slower in space. He was almost 87--had served in the Army-WWII, Korea,
Vietnam, the Cuban Missile Crisis (was on one of the blockading ships) and
well--he was my hero--He died of complications resulting from cancer
caused by Agent Orange. He will be buried at Arlington with full military
honors in August.

Physically I am not so good--flarey as I went to Alabama this time with
just so much meds and overstayed--so I am doubled up on Pred. and trying
to get back on schedule and get this flare under control--plus do all that
is needed at such times--

I can use all the crying towels I can get as the tears seem to erupt at
random moments and triggered by seemingly innocuous things like passing
the cereal in the he store and remembering what he always ate for
breakfast.
