Re: Do You Usa a PDA,,,,,,,,

Yep - what she said. Love mine too. And I also have Ebooks on it which gives me something to hold easily with these hands and still read. And I have solitaire games on it which gives me something to do just before I fall to sleep.
Get one which is rechargeable - not batteries as that makes it weigh more. I keep the recharger plugged into an outlet by the bed. and I keep the ubs thing which down loads to the laptop in my office. I can read at night in the dark while hubby is trying to sleep and it does not wake him cause there is a built in light in the PDA.
I use the little alarm to tell me where I am suppose to be all the time and that includes when to take a pill that doesn't involve a meal. Frankly, it has become what is left of my brain.
I think I have the same one Diane has - Palm Tungsten E or E2. It is my second Palm -first one made by Sony and I just wore it out. This one is color but my first one was not and I lived just fine without color and I think those are now selling for under $100. Color costs more.
I have my medication list in the note section and I have a medical journal there too. Also, if a doctor asks when my last mammogram for example was I tap calendar and then the search and type in mammo and tap okay. tah-dah there it is date and time for the asking.
Before I head to doctor appointment, I open the desktop version and on my medication list be sure it is accurate and then do a copy. Open notepad and paste and then print out that page [several copies to take with me]. Saves me writing and they LOVE it.
That medication list also now contains drugs I am allergic to as well as drugs they tried and either didn't work or cause the opposite or strange reaction. No since trying the same drug twice. After several years my brain no longer remembers drugs that failed but there they are in black and white for the doctor to see. Did I mention that they LOVE me. lol

i finally started using a pda a couple of years ago, persuaded by my
stepdaughter and her then finance. mine is not fancy. it's the palm
tungsten/E. i don't know how i survived without it! i keep the calendar
etc on my desktop as well, backing them up together every few days to
stay current. with a few touches of the stylus, i can zip back to 2004
to see when i saw a certain doctor, or forward to 2008 to write in the
date for a conference i want to attend. I have bookgroup the third
thursday of every month and can write it in once, then click on "every
month" and it appears the third thursday of every month into infinity
(if i so choose). similarly, you put in your family's birthdays, click
"every year" and you'll never forget them again.

i keep notes on it, keep my various passwords and credit card numbers
etc in a password protected file on it, i have all the names, addresses
and phone numbers of everyone i know in it. when adding that much info
as you're setting it up, it's easiest to do it on the desktop, then
transfer it.

the only problem i've had with it is that i hate writing the letters on
the screen. i'm too fast and too sloppy. there's a little keyboard you
can call up, and using the stylus, type that way, so sometimes i do
that. you can also file by color--i use green for medical appts, for
example, so i can look at the month on the screen and where i see
little green blocks, i know i have med appts that day.

recommendation: buy extra styluses. (styli?)

hope this helps. i LOVE my pda.
