They recommended a unit by Bissell.
More later,
I have a Bissell that needs to be thrown out. When it worked, it worked
well more or less. Unfortunately they are not made to last very long. One
of my peeves about it is that it drips dirty water from the bottom. After
about maybe 8 cleanings, the motor needed replacing on mine. Dummy me, I
spent $100 to have it replaced and it lasted maybe another 5-6 cleanings. I
say Dummy because when I took it in there was a whole row of them in the
shop for the exact same reason. I was reading something online about the
exhaust being on the bottom of the machine being the cause of motor
replacements.
This last time when I used it I didn't realize it was spraying solution on
the carpet but not sucking it back up again so I ended up with soggy
hallway. I ran over to my mom's to borrow her Bissell which is fairly new
and hers was having a problem spraying the solution. I would have to fiddle
with the trigger and eventually it would come out but it was more trouble
than it was worth and I told her to take it back to Costco pronto and get a
new one. Hers also dripped dirty water back onto the carpet.
I really miss having one and hope to replace it soon but I doubt I'll ever
buy another Bissell because of this. I have been seeing something on tv for
a Rug Doctor but the damn thing is about $700 -- more than I want to spend
and have to do it myself!
