What is PVNS? The main thing to worry about with fusion (apart from it failing and the other complications from the initial surgery) is the stress placed on other joints. In particular the subtalar joints can end up going downhill a lot faster than they otherwise would have. I've chosen crutches rather than fusion. I have osteonecrosis of the talus with progressive collapse.
