Hi Don,,,, Yes, I have RA lung. I also smoked 3 packs a day for many
years and 2 packs a day for many more. I do not know how a person can say
what caused what but the scar tissue in my lungs was enough to make me
whistle when I say the CT scan. I got the scan because I tested positive
for TB. After the treatment for this,,,, the scar tissue will be with me
for the rest of the time the Lord lets me live.
I had a family doctor many years ago that said that TB would be coming
back into our life after being completely rid of it in America. It started
with the VN people saved from slaughter and the rest has and continues to
come across the border from Mexico.
To be honest about my lungs,,,,, I do not know what part is due to RA
lung with 7-8 years of Methx, the smoking, the exposure to TB and the above
does not help you at all. My RD's have listened for that dry crackley
sound for over 20 years and none of them said anything about it to me.

Hi everyone,
For years I have had trouble with sinusitis and have never found a
reasonable solution to the problem.
I had one operation, a sub mucous resection, when I was about 12 years old
but nothing since. Over all
these years ( 60+) I have never experienced what I am going through now.
About three months ago I started having breathing problems. In the
mornings especially I will wake
up with very stuffy sinuses, some pressure in my upper chest and
difficulty getting my breath. I don't seem
able to completely take a deep breath and feel it in my lungs. This has
taken place following my
remission from the non NonHodgkins lymphoma. and the R-Chop chemo
treatments.
I have had one appointment with the pulmonary Doc and another scheduled. I
have undergone
two pulmonary breathing test one before my chemo and another since then. I
have had an all
night test for the oxygen levels in my blood while I sleep( I don't have
the results). The
pulmonary doc has given me two different nasal sprays and an Albuteral
inhaler to try.
Nasal sprays seem to help and only sometimes does the inhaler seem to
offer any help.
My Rheumatoligist have told me from, time time that they hear a crackling
sound in my lungs,
which all have said is typical of some one who has taken methotrexate for
any length of time
(at least 10 years). when I started chemo my cancer doc took me off both
Methotrexate and Enbrel.
I know there is such a thing as Rheumatoid lungs.
Has anyone here experienced any type of breathing problem that they have
been told
is associated with their RA or any of it's other 169 cousin immune
diseases.
I have RA, osteopenia, fibromyalgia., spinal stenosis and scoliosis.
TIA for any input you might have to offer or suggestions.
