stupid question abt AS

I was reading one of those articles spodosaurus posted.. well it was talking
abt
spinal stenosis being an effect of AS. Well heres the funny thing, back
when I was
25 and had my auto accident that herniated L4-5 and found L3-4 was
bulging -- I
had severe stenosis at L4-5 -- matter fact my neurosurgeon said he'd never
seen it
that bad in a person so young. It's usually from many years of "trauma" to
the back,
how he explained it happens..
Another thing that I read was... the knees are often effected. Not sure if
mine are or
not, just know often I have a hell of a time climbing stairs, their hot to
touch after
a normal days activities (lol I made a funny!) but I do recall back when I
was a teen
and early 20's that my knees ached and were hot like that also.. saw a few
sports docs
and they all blew it off as "growing pains".
Now, could my knees and stenosis have been caused by AS and just not caught?
And you know if I ask a doctor that, they'll say, "absolutely not!" -- yeah
just dont want me to sue your ass for screwing up the rest of my life..
being 38 and a body of
a 98yr old.
anyhow, just wondering was all.
