In order to meet the 6:00 PM roster deadline the Eagles had to release Max Jean-Gilles and they intend to bring him back, tomorrow. Obviously Jean-Gilles knows he is not that valuable to the Eagles. I think he should explore other opportunities that might be available with the 31 other teams.
Jean-Gilles has started 16 and played in 29 games over the past 3 seasons, has never sustained any major injury, has never embarassed himself on the field, has committed few if any penalties, reports to every camp on time and does what his coaches tell him to do. Obviously he will never be enshrined in Canton, but it seems to me that Jean-Gilles should have other opportunities in the NFL.
Clearly the Eagles feel like he was the one player that they wanted to keep that would
generate the least amount of interest from other teams. We will see.
