Re: 1st preseason game

Pablo, you are right that any of these teams could be surprisingly good.
Realistically, all of these teams will likely miss the playoffs, again, in
2010.

Before we over-respect some of these opponents, let's look at their recent
histories. SF is coming off an 8-8 season and hasn't had a winning season
since 2002. Atlanta is coming off a 9-7 season, 1 of 2 winning seasons in
the last 5 years, and they have NO in their division. Houston is coming off
a 9-7 season, its only winning season in franchise history, and they have
Indianapolis in their division. Jacksonville is coming off a 7-9 season,
has had only 2 winning seasons in the last 10 years, and also has
Indianapolis in their division.

In my opinion, NO would have to collapse to give Atlanta any playoff hope,
and Indianapolis would have to collapse to give either Houston or
Jacksonville any playoff hope. All of these teams have bad starting QBs,
except maybe Atlanta, and most of these teams' respective head coaches could
be fired after this season.

Leon, if the Eagles struggle against Jacksonville, it could be a very
ugly season. For the Eagles to be competitive they need to beat the
teams they are supposed to beat, and Jacksonville is one of them. I
think the Eagles have 7 relatively easy games: Detroit, Chicago,
Jacksonville, Tennessee, Houston, San Francisco and Atlanta. None of
those 7 opponents are expected to be playoff teams and several of them
will be competing for draft position. Considering the rest of the games
are difficult to brutal, losing any of the easier games could mean a
season below .500.

San Fran and Atlanta are certainly supposed to make the playoffs, I think
Houston
might make it also. Jacksonville will be much harder to beat in the
regular season, when
they start running the ball with Jones-drew. I don't feel comfortable
saying the Eagles are
better then anyone right now.
