I think the Eagles did it for improved public relations, especially after
losing Dawkins to free agency. The team did the same for Westbrook last
year, and Joe Banner will continue to remind everyone about his generosity
for many years to come. The fans often perceive the Eagles as frugal, and
the Eagles like to appear generous every once in a while, in order to
demonstrate to the fanbase that they are not as frugal as perceived.
Furthermore the Eagles had too much cap space and needed McNabb's bonus to
count toward their minimum.

I think that is the real news. Kolb will only get another opportunity ifWhy has everyone forgotten Feeley? A 7-3 record, 16td vs 14 ints. Kolb has
McNabb sustains a serious injury, or mop-up duty if the Eagles are up by
17 points late in the 4th quarter, or he could start in week 17 if the
Eagles have already secured home field advantage. Kolb should change his
number to #17.

Conclusion? Kolb, isn't a franchise Quarterback
not proven he can move the team and yet he is number 2 QB.
Still McNabb getting more money is like giving bonuses to the AIG,
Citibank, BOA CEO's, and rewarding the Ponzi Schemers.
