First of all, this isn't as strange a pick as most people think. The Fat Man's credo is that your first building block for a team is a QB. McNabb's been developing quite a list of injuries. He's turning 30 and is contract is effectively up in four years.
Kelly Holcomb will not be with the team on opening day.
The Niners and later the Packers had a history of having a slew of highly developed quarterbacks on their rosters. The Eagles are the heirs to those two legacies, and its high time we start developing a young QB.
Around 2 or 3 years from now, we'll see what will be with Kevin Kolb. He'll either be starting or getting ready to start or otherwise be trade bait.
I like the fact that Kolb is a coaches son.
I like Kolb's height.
The last quarterback picked in the second round by the Eagles was Randall Cunningham.
