Gumbel is really bad as a Play By Play on NFLN

Gumbel is great as the host of Real Sports. He also did a fine job when he
worked for Today. He is absolutely horrible as a play by play man. His voice
is atrocious. He sounds about as ill prepared as anyone who has ever done
the job. I would take the bottom tier guy at Fox or CBS over Gumbel in a
minute. It's a shame because Collingsworth is a top color man. I don't know
why Gumbel took this job. It can't be the money. He made a ton on Today. I
think the NFL should have given the job to a radio play by play guy like
Merrill Reese or Harry Kalas.
