I agree with both of you that Pinkie would be more productive as an
occasional role player, instead of a starter. I give Pinkie credit for a
few big plays during his career. Unfortunately, I think Pinkie will get
plenty of snaps, especially since Avant and Bloom are unlikely to play,
except for special teams.. I think Lewis won't make the final 53 because
the Eagles drafted 2 WR's, and Reid likes to keep all of his picks for a
couple of years, at least. Barring injuries, Brown, Gaffney, Pinkie, Avant
and Bloom will likely take the first 5 WR spots. Will Reid keep 6 WR's? I
don't think Reid has enough space on the roster this year for a 6th WR.

The slot is where he's projected. We have the indomitable Todd Pinkston
at #2, you thinking of putting him in the slot? Brown, a true future
#1, is already forced to grab the reins earlier then he should've. That
leaves Jabbar as the slot guy.
You know how I feel about Pinkston. Stick Baskett or GLew in the slot.
Gaffney shouldn't be behind Pinky on the depth chart.

I agree 100%. Pinkston should be 4th on the chart, but you and I both
know that's not going to happen. Lewis was very effective as the slot
reciever in his first season, it's probably his natural spot. He's
going to struggle to simply make the roster and if they want to keep
him outside his goose is cooked. Pinkston would probably flourish not
being a go to #2, and keeping him safely on the sideline would appeal
to both him and us. He might actually make some big plays in the 4 Wide
sets. It's difficult to employ now with Moats and Westbrook out of the
backfield and 2 TE's, which translates to fewer field ops for Pinkston
and more happiness from me, but there is no way it happens.
