good as last year's, but it'll do.
So...how do you think this year's offense stacks up against the one in,
say, '03? Or '04? And do you remember anything about those "eroding"
teams in '03/'04?

By the way, what makes you think the Patriots are eroding? Is 18-1 the
indicator?
How'd it work out for the Patriots? Your argument is that they cheated
their way to three super bowls. Obviously, then, it worked.
Your argument then is that cheating is acceptable if it "works" and if it
works to your benefit, albeit vicariously and attenuated to the highest
extent.
Is it? I think you need to work on your reading comprehension. If you
don't think that the Patriots are in good shape right now (better, in
fact, than they were this time in 2000), then you're delusional. I'm sure
Kraft is pretty damned happy, but go ahead and delude yourself into
thinking that life in Patriot-land is bad or that Kraft's pockets are
empty, or whatever it is that you think that helps you get to sleep at
night.
Kraft's pockets are from empty. New England's LBs are archaic. One is 40
and the other is old after suffering a stroke. Colvin is gone. You guys
have Adalius, and not much else. Your secondary evacuated faster than the
bowels of Sadam Hussein the instant his neck was snapped by the noose. You
got Wilfork, Vrabel and Seymour, and that's about it.
Oh yeah, and it's unlikely you'll be cashing your "CHEATING DIVIDEND" again
this year - not now that you're squarely in the hot seat on several fronts:
the NFL Commish himself, the IRS, Congress, the NFL Community in general
from players to coordinators to coaches to competing GM/personnel staff.
How many sprints did Ben Johnson win after they took his Dianabol, Equipose
and Winstrol away? How many marathons did Rosie Ruiz win when she wasn't
riding discretely on the subway? How many of their prior events were
respected after it was firmly established that they cheated?
The Patriots are the Barry Bonds of the NFL.
